Twilight, La Maison de Retraite pour Chiens is a shelter in the North of the Dordogne run by Leeanne and Michael Whitley. They need donations of dog food, cleaning items, prizes for their tombola, sponsors, monetary donations and adoptive homes.

"We started Twilight in the summer of 2009, in memory of losing our Kizzy, and needing to find a friend for our elderly but happy retriever, Teg. It became evident, searching the pounds and refuges, that if you were an old dog, life was not always so good, and your ending might be premature and/or without dignity. So now we offer limited places for elderly dogs who are lost, abandoned or bereaved of their owners."

What can you do to help? You might be able to offer:

1) A loving home for our rescue dogs

2) To act as an escort for dogs to their new homes

3) Donations of dog food

4) Help with walking and playing with the dogs

5) Dog behaviourist skills, to specific dogs overcome particular issues

6) Veterinary skills, to neuter dogs for free and/or provide other veterinary assistance

7) Vaccine donations

8) Help with meeting our veterinary bills

Saint-Paul-la-Roche is a commune in the northeast of the Dordogne department in the Aquitaine region in southwestern France.
